group meeting friday during lunch break sound good? friday lunches can be our one 'official' meeting, tuesday our DQ meeting. later we could add in a monday lunch meeting, so we can organize stuff we do over the weekend to show DQ the next day. some stuff we've gotta go over: -how we break up into groups (story/layout/animation/production), or if we're going to have every person do one whole scene -style of film (similar to Pirates? yet we shouldn't outright copy them) -when to fix up leica, make it finalized (final one due end of the month) -anything else you can think of? we're on production people! yay! yet, I don't know where to start, but there's so much to be done! ack
also, I'm not sure how many of us want to actually become animators (rather than respectable concept artists, layout artists and the like), but I think I really need to improve my skills. the only reason calarts students animate better is because they practise more, sooo--if anyone's interested, how about we meet up, watch gorilla films, and animate? or have more self-imposed animation assignments. I personally would welcome more animation work.
meanwhile, some gorilla videos off youtube:
1. national geographic. FIGHT! ...sorta
2. some nice faces
3. badass two-headed gorilla from Big Guy and Rusty
4. gorillas in bugs bunny~
5. not a real gorilla, but good acting. just for fun!
6. vancouver film school's student film on a gorilla. some interesting stuff!
7. lastly, "Gorilla Warfare". seriously, he took our film title! elton, you must sue him. let's strive to make ours a better film than this though!
if anyone else sees nice gorilla refs, post 'em please!
Was going to email you... I've been doing a bit of preliminary work on the project, reviewing and pulling sounds, I was hoping to do a mock-up for you sometime in the next week or so... going through appropriate sound effects can be quite time consuming, though, so we'll see, lol.
