How to Setup your Paintings

If our paint style is going to be "no line and rendered" we should all follow these simple steps in order to achieve a more consistent look. (I strongly recommend these steps but obviously I'm not going to force you). So anyway, in this example I'm using Randolph's intro-pan background he just gave me and these are the FIRST STEPS that I take.

Step#1 | Cleanup Lines
Step#2 | Create a Gradient Base
Step#3 | Block in Basic Colours
Step#4 | Ghost Lines
Step#5 | Merge Linework with Block-In
Step#6 | Paint Ontop

[Mac] Download

The computers at school have this plugin already, but if you want to have it on your own computer download it.

just the overhead circle thing. for the final I might have to edit in a few more frames for the gorilla's head turn. and yeah, the colors aren't finalized yet!
compositing does take quite a while, but do-able.

jeremy should post his! >> well, everything's in the group folder anyway.

PipelineTest

Hey All, at a short scene from start to finish- I hope you guys can all get a chance to try it out for yourselves soon! The compositing takes longer then you think. This Shot was animated in one day, cleaned up/painted and composited in another. If you start early (and have a colour pallette to choose from) it could be done potentially in one day since it is so short.

The colours are obviously not stated fully yet for the characters and new end scene- I went ahead with my guess as to what they were.

Colour will have to be discussed and decided upon on monday or tuesday! (for obvious reasons)

I also added the face smash but forgot the shake when he hits the ground for more impact! NOoo

final leica--more or less

gorilla_march4th from gorilla warfare on Vimeo.

watch it without sound, doesn't match.
watch it daily. refer to it all the time, so your scene has continuity with what comes before/after.

PRODUCTION IS GO!

1. WE WILL FINISH. (that is not debatable)

2. WE ARE A TEAM. YOU ARE NOT FINISHED UNTIL 'WE' ARE FINISHED.

3. DOING 'your best' MEANS NOTHING - just do it, and do it well.

4. DO NOT PREOCCUPY, OCCUPY.

5. PUSH IT.

6. BE ECONOMIC.

7. THINK CINEMATIC.

8. DRAW WITH PASSION.

9. KNOW HOW YOUR SCENE RELATES TO THE WHOLE.

10. THE AUDIENCE DOES NOT SEE EXCUSES.

11. ENTERTAIN.

12. WORK HARD. (the rewards come at the screening)

13. WE DO NOT ACCEPT GARBAGE.

14. WE DO NOT TOLERATE SLACKERS.

15. WE DO NOT QUIT.

16. YOU DON'T NEED 47 NUKES AND AN ARMY OF CYBERNETIC DINOSAURS TO MAKE SOMETHING AWESOME, AWESOME IS A FEELING.

17. BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU CREATE.

18. HAVE FUN.

19. BE BRAVE.

20. GIVE THEM SOMETHING THEY'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

~Good Luck Everyone~

Yo Mofos

All layouts should be done by Monday, March 9. If u need your block in approve then do so before Monday. A few people are working at the studio everynight doing layouts and such. We need to keep going guys and gals. Also, you guys should be thumbnailing out your animation scenes. We have to finish this film, whether you like it or not. We will have to lose a lot of sleep and pull all nighters if we have to.

love you guys =)

Rand.

Proposed Name Change

With our new vision, new main character, new story, new focus, new hopes, and overall new vibe we should consider a new group name! This one has been stirring for quite a while but there's been a lot of talk about starting anew under this epic banner of awesome.

All in favour, say I.
