1) Deploying the Apes, 2) Choppers leave, 3) The flare. 4) Battle. 5) Explosion.Some colour possibilities. This is 'kind of' how I see it in my head colour wise... I might do more as they come to me, because they're nice and quick but tell a lot about mood. *edit* I'm just going to keep adding to this post when I have new ones.

To answer you're question Danny, were opening during the day.
The 3rd one looks like its at night but really thats just the darkness of the jungle canopy.
Dude I just shat my pants four times looking at those. Y'know...in a good way. Seriously awesome stuff. I love the one in the helicopter cabin and the helicopters over the jungle. Actually, I just love them all.
I like the idea of the two glowing stripes on the armour. Visually really dramatic and lets the apes show up even in the dark.
Man, it would be awesome if we could animate it kind of impressionistically...really heavy shadows, using the lights and the eyes to help define the form, and then just suggest the rest with highlights (like the one with the gorilla walking through the flames and the rain).
that's true, I for some reason never pictured fire after the explosion.... but obviously there would be lol
Nah I never imagined fire either - but was playing with colour.
