awesome pictures, anyone? it's like our film in 4 shots:
1) confused, entering warzone with no chance of escape
2) figuring out what the mind world is
3) finding the remote to turn the TV of reality back on! the remote being the gun (actually I just like the colors in this one, and the style of the lettering on the box).
4) even if he's going nowhere, he's just happy to be free~
so for the leica, let's show it to whoever, get feedback, and tighten it up to perfection for the final. we could even break it into (3 or 4, perhaps) sequences so it's not just up to one person to cut the whole reel. and I myself don't really know that much awesome music, so if anyone wants to share their music collection of fitting sounds....... you can toss it into the group folder on the server!

Cool stuff Lily, I agree about the Leica- I think now that the Leica is roughly working we can split the final reel off into parts (making sure that the ends link up) and those people can focus only on their section (Perhaps like 3 or 4 people would be best) Save them in their own premiere file as Part 1 2 3, etc then export them and compile into one premiere file. And yeah, any music that people feel would fit the location and mood would be usefull.. sort of pick the best ones and make a hybrid.

Mmm.. I'm not fond of the idea of splitting the leica into sections. Thats creating segregation when the whole film needs to be thought of as a 'whole', no scene stands alone.
We will play it by ear, The main issue is program speed... with all scenes/effects/audio combined- I was waiting a good 10 or more seconds waiting each time I had to go between premiere and my sound folder, or importing a sound (and there wasn't that much in the way of effects other then cross fades and a few pans/zooms. Once more effects and layering come to play in the final reel, the file is going to lag even more.. if we can find a way to make this not an issue then so be it.
if we don't split the leica into sections, it will mean only one person can work on it, and that'll be pretty painful. >_o
if we split it into sections first, then put it into one and fine-tune it, everything should still stand as a 'whole'. this lets the brunt of the workload be split up and things can get done faster. people working on it could all work on it at the same time, so they can consult each other?
I just think it'd be pretty tough for one person to go through all that, unless we take shifts or something!
as for lagging, the only thing we can do is try to keep the layers to a minimum. maybe time the whole thing without sound, export video, and then add in the sound. simple video file should be much smaller than like, 580928350 individual jpegs right?
WEll, I know that in after Effects and flipbook you can adjust the preview resolution settings to half or a third, etc.. which generally speeds it up- Perhaps premiere has a similar function
